Scotch is available at stud to approved females by private treaty. Frozen semen is available.
Scotch was the only orange and white in a litter of livers. He immediately stood out for that but he also became the quick favorite of Tango the nanny dog. Scotch has been started on birds, shows great style, a great nose, and trainability. He has drive as well. He also has been shown, he currently has 7 points with a major. He was also Best of Breed one day, in Lawrence Kansas October 2016.
We are letting Scotch grow up this fall while hunting wild birds in Kansas.
Update 7/18:
Scotch is at 9 points with a major and is taking a brief hiatus from the ring to let little brother Cappy finish. He had a great hunting season, getting his feet wet in the Midwest chasing quail and pheasant. Dove and Prairie Chicken season open soon so we are hoping to get him out and put his natural retrieve to use.
He has also passed all his health clearances, except eyes which will be done before the end of the year.
Update 11/18: Scotch is showing great potential as a wild bird dog...we competed in a Pheasant Forever Shoot and going in blindly that it was a competition(I thought it was just for training), he placed third with multiple finds and was steady to flush with speedy retrieves including a blind. He is excelling in quail hunting the occasional weekends we have been able to get out.
Scotch will be setting foot back in the show ring late spring to finish his AKC Championship.
UPDATE 2/20/2022: Scotch finished his championship with a Best of Breed out of the classes over specials for a 5 point major. He also went 4 for 4 for his Junior Hunter title. He is making the occasional return to the ring in Specialties as a Veteran. He will continue to be Greg's personal hunting dog.
UPDATE: 8/2023 Scotch came out of retirement for a few weekends of fun in New York and Ohio. Scotch was Best Veteran in Sweeps at the Hudson Valley Brittany Club Specialty as well as placing every time he was entered the rest of the weekend. We took a couple weeks off and headed to Canfield Ohio for 4 days of supported entries and specialties. He was in the ribbons every day and was highly considered for Best of Breed from the Veterans class.
We will continue to show Scotch exclusively from the Veterans class at specialties.
