All about Firefly Kennels
Welcome to our website. If you are looking for information on Dual potential Brittanys.....you have come to the right site.
Here is a little background information and history on me and my dogs. Firefly Kennels is owned by LeslieAnn Collins-Stalker of Missouri. I am now joined by my wonderful husband Greg, in this endeavor, as well as my mother Susan Collins, who is in Florida.
We relocated in 2009, from Florida to Texas and again to Kansas in 2016, courtesy of the United States Army. My husband is currently serving to protect our country and our freedom. We have been in Missouri since 2020, again relocating with the US Army, and ultimately retiring from Active Duty.
I, LeslieAnn, started in Weimaraners in Florida in 1999, with the purchase of Von Wagner's Moonlit Willow RN "Willow". She was my first Weim and my teaching dog. She taught me to have a sense of humor when it came to training and showing. I added to my pack shortly after Willow by being given her half brother "River" in February of 2000, he would soon be known as Int'l CH and BISS AKC CH VW Nightshadows Silver River CD RN. After being given River, Firefly Kennels was created. We soon added another member to our grey family, River and Willow's niece came to join us in the form of Rysa in 2003....soon to be known as MBIS U-CH NS's Laughin Out Loud at Firefly RN, a multiple group and Best in Show winner in UKC. A spitfire of a gal she added quite a bit to our program. And last but not least did Firefly's Simply Unforgettable "Natalie" join us in 2005, she is a River daughter out of our outcross breeding to JanArt's Cosmopolitian Liesl Too NA NAJ. Unfortunately major health issues mandated that Natalie be spayed, unfortunately this is where breeding has its heartbreak since none of River's puppies will be or should be bred.
In March of 2010, We added our newest member, Cherrystone Firefly Island Tea, "Finn", from Cherrystone Weimaraners of South Carolina. He has been a wonderful addition as a companion, hunting partner, as well as a star in the show and performance rings. We are thankful to his breeder Pam Cherry, of Cherrystone Weimaraners, for letting this boy come to the Lone Star State!
In 2013, we decided to venture into the field trial game with the addition of our Dual potential pup from Blueridge Kennels. We welcomed a darling Brittany pup, Blueridge N' Firefly's Hellcat, "Cougar". She finished quickly in the show ring and had great potential in the field, but has since been retired to a companion hunting dog.
In 2014, Kabina's Double Shot Expresso, "Schotzee", joined our household as a companion and hunting dog. After the loss of Rysa in 2013, we welcomed the comedy of Schotzee and have enjoyed her antics. Schotzee belonged to David Downing of Blueridge Brittanys and Nancy Crandall and Kaitlyn Sanchez of Kabina Brittanys. I am forever humbled that Nancy and David let Schotzee come to share my home and heart. She will live out her life as a beloved companion and bed warmer.
In February of 2016, we welcomed our first litter of Brittanys in conjunction with Triumphant Kennels of Pennsylvania. We are thankful to Linda McCartney for her mentorship and allowing us to use her handsome Stevie as the sire of our litter.
We breed for health and temperament as well as striving for versatility and dual ability in our dogs.
Firefly Kennels we believe that this is "Where Beauty, Brains, and Bird Ability is Always On Point!"
Unless a dog or bitch bearing the Firefly Kennel name, either Weimaraner or Brittany, or the offspring of a Firefly Weimaraner/Brittany is owned by LeslieAnn, Gregory Stalker and Susan Collins, the breeding of that dog is not a breeding that was approved of or condoned by the above stated parties. We don't condone or encourage any breedings without both parents having attained an AKC Championship and at least one performance title, have ALL health clearances done and certified, with passing grades, by OFA, PennHip, and CERF and be in strict compliance to the WCA and ABC code of ethics.
Please visit each dogs page for their story.
We are currently members in good standing:
American Brittany Club
Weimaraner Club of America
Kentucky Brittany Club
Rolla Missouri Kennel Club(of which I am on the BOD)
2017- We are currently taking a break from Weimaraners, as the loss of Finn, in the summer of 2016, left us devastated and heartbroken.
We continue to show and trial the Brittanys, striving for a Dual dog.
Please bear with us as we continue to build and edit this site.
